Update on My Garden

I thought I’d post an update on my garden in between my summer-hours posts. (Click here to see the newly planted version.)

I decided to attempt another garden this year just because I need a bit of peace and serenity in my day to day life.

I’m not a morning person, but I can get up early to water or weed and just enjoy the quiet time outside.

My husband had the idea that he wants to make a wildflower garden out of an overgrown patch of dirt that borders our neighbor’s land, the road, and our driveway.

We dug up some plants here and there to save them from being mowed down and planted them in with the veggies to be transplanted once again into the wildflower garden.

In the bare spot on the far right, I plan to transplant some butterfly weed and chicory that’s growing where the wildflower garden will be because the hubbs is going in with the tractor and I can’t bear to lose them.

I dug these up years ago from local roadsides and brought them home to enjoy along with some blue eyed grass which will end up in this garden as well.

For now, though, I’m thrilled with the prospect of a delicious tomato sandwich as the tomatoes have lots of flowers where the tomatoes will grow.

And the okra…ah, the okra!

Happy summer!

I love it! And I can’t wait for the time to come when I have my own little space to do my own thing in. In other words, I do not care for condominium life what so ever! …someday…

It’s quite rewarding, I must say! I love digging in the dirt. I cut my first okra today. Only 3 pods, but it’s just the beginning! Since we’re also working on a wildflower garden, I’m a happy camper! I wish you the same someday soon!
