Just Another Garden Update

My garden is still growing…

My middle grandchild loves the garden. He thinks it’s pretty cool.

He was in heaven earlier today when I sent him out to the garden to get some basil for the sauce we were making.

He’ll pick some more tomorrow to mix in with the ricotta cheese.

We’re making a homemade lasagna tomorrow and the boys wanted to make the sauce too, so make it we did.

It’s been years since I made my own sauce and back then, I would have made my own bread too, but let’s not get crazy!

So my garden continues to grow…

I’ve almost got enough okra to make a meal.

I finally have some tomatoes that look like they may be edible.

The first tomatoes that came in had blossom end rot. I bought some calcium spray and some organic tomato fertilizer and used it on the green pepper and tomato plants.

They’re looking much better now.

And I’m still in love with the magic we’re growing.

Carol, Denise uses a product called Bob & Johns Fertilizer. Whatever you apply it to it grows incredible.

Thanks for that tip…I’ll check it out. I’ll take any advice I can get. I haven’t grown veggies in a long time!

Your little garden looks fantastic. Just enjoy those fresh vegetables. I have not done a garden in years. Maybe when I retire, I will make a small area in my yard a garden with a few tomato plants, squash and okra. I see you are really enjoying your retirement. Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer.

I am thoroughly enjoying my retirement!I’ve always loved gardening, but hadn’t had time for it in years. I almost have enough okra to make a good mess and I can’t wait to fry it up! I hope you’re enjoying your summer too!
