Another Summer
It’s summer again and I planted a garden. It’s not a huge garden, but it’s what I can manage right now.
I love going out in the quiet of the morning to water and weed. I’ll love it even more when we get our first tomato.
Once again, our summer is filled with promises to ourselves. Promises of reclaiming the edges of our yard, of getting the little garden bed out front ready for wild flowers this fall, of swimming lessons for the grandchildren.
We broke out the smoker/grill with plans of lots of grilling and learning to use the smoker.
Some days it feels a bit overambitious, but we’re taking it a day at a time, a step at a time. Even if it’s baby steps, it’s still progress.
My husband found a snakeskin-whole and perfectly intact-under the tractor shed. Last night, the deer were out grazing in the back of the pasture.
The mockingbirds and the mourning doves, the bluebirds and the cardinals, they’re always here to greet us with a fly-by or a little tune.
So we’ll have plenty of company this season.
I wish you all good company on the road ahead. I wish you all a season of making happy memories.

I will be going to summer hours shortly, posting every other week. I love you all and thank you for traveling alongside me on this journey called life!

Have any plans for the summer that you’d care to share? I’d love to hear them!
