Living on the Bright Side
Is the glass half empty or half full? Technically, either one is correct but I like to see it as half full. How about you?
I prefer to be grateful for the half glass I do have rather than begrudge the half I don’t.
My optimism, however, only extends so far.
I don’t believe that the glass is magically going to be filled and that all my dreams will come true without my participation.
But I do believe that if I need a full glass, I have only to recognize and acknowledge the problem in order to begin to find a solution.
Looking on the bright side, when things aren’t everything you hoped they would be, it’s time for a little (or a lot) of realistic optimism. This means recognizing and acknowledging the problems you are facing and then working toward a solution.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’m writing this post more for me than for you. I have some issues I ‘m dealing with both in my writing career and my personal life.
While I actually believe that everything is eventually going to be okay on both fronts, it’s not going to happen by itself.
So I’m dealing, and while I may have lost some battles, the war isn’t over yet.
In the meantime, while I struggle with my issues, I still believe in smiling. In making someone’s day with a hug or a prayer or giving them a minute of my time.
I still believe that just being alive is a wonderful thing and I’m truly grateful to be here.
I still enjoy sitting outside in the evening with my husband, enjoying his company and the sunset.
I still prefer living on the bright side.
Case in point, I managed to make time for this post because it’s important to me and it’s not going to write itself.
Everything will be okay, as long as I never give up participating.

Hey girl. I love your honesty!!! Thank you for taking time to do this writing and posting. I also understand. Yes ma’am we go through valleys and then reach the mountain top. It is always a journey in between. All will be fine in due time. Trials an tribulations just about always lead to growth in our lives. Hang in there girl. I love your book by the way. Just love it. Take care my friend.
Thank you for understanding and for the pep talk. I really needed that right now and you’re right-I’ll just hang in there and do the best I can. I’m thrilled that you loved the book. It was a total learning experience for me to self-publish. What a ride. And thank you for taking the time to comment. I always love hearing what you think ’cause I always know it will be good! You take care of yourself, too. Until the next time…
Dearest Chelsea, I’m not sure what you have got going on, but I am sure that if anyone can overcome it’s you! And if their is anything I can do to help, you know I will 🙂 I also want to wish you a Happy 1 year blog anniversary! I always look forward to your eloquent words…they truly brighten my day and give me a connection to you. I Love You and miss you
Oh, Grace! I love you and miss you too. I wish we lived closer.
Thanks for the anniversary wish, I had no idea that I’ve been blogging a whole year already!
And thanks for your confidence in me…but say a prayer for me anyway. My issues will be resolved in time, but a prayer certainly can’t hurt.
I love that you look forward to my posts, that makes me happy. I’m starting next week’s post today as it appears that summer is actually over (we finally have some fall-like weather!) and I need to get back with it.
I greatly appreciate this little pick-me-up. It has put a big smile on my face.
Love you to the moon and back multiple times…chels
